Gillian Rogers
Principal Country Officer for Kenya
International Finance Corporation (IFC)
Gillian is a seasoned development finance professional experienced in leveraging global public and private sector relationships to promote investments in developing countries. She brings her leadership experience to IFC’s Kenya Country Office as a Principal Country Officer where she will oversee and support the growth of one of IFC’s key portfolio on the continent. Prior to joining IFC, Gill designed and managed private sector development portfolios in West and East Africa, South Asia, and the Western Balkans, with a focus on financial and agriculture sectors. Her work promoted private investment by facilitating enabling business environments through enhanced trade infrastructure. Most recently, Gill worked as an Advisor to the UK Executive Director on the boards of the World Bank Group and the IMF. She has previously worked for the UK’s FCDO and DFID where she led economic development teams in Pakistan, Tanzania, and Nigeria. Gill started her career in London, United Kingdom as a financial adviser for Chevron before pursuing her master’s degree in economics (Finance and Development) from SOAS University of London (UK) and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
