Suma Venkatesh is an accomplished executive with over thirty years of experience in real estate development, project management, technical services, M&A, asset management, infrastructure finance, and advisory roles, including over a decade in CXO positions. Her career spans banking, real estate, and hospitality, with board experience in subsidiary and JV companies. As Executive Vice President, Real Estate and Development at IHCL, she oversees growth through hotel developments, acquisitions, licenses, and asset management, leading to significant portfolio expansion and revenue growth. Key achievements include the acquisition of new hotels under management contract and delivery of projects worth over Rs. 5000 Crores, contributing to a 2.5x portfolio growth and substantial management fee earnings. Suma’s career began as a design engineer, followed by impactful roles at ICICI Bank and Portman Overseas, focusing on infrastructure finance and real estate development. She is also recognized for her commitment to mentoring, D&I and ESG initiatives, continuous learning, and has received notable academic and professional awards including the lIPT Global Award for Women Leaders at Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin. Suma holds an engineering degree from VJTI, Mumbai and a Masters in Management from JBIMS, Mumbai and pursues diverse interests including music, dance, travel, and personal well-being.
