FAHAD ALOTAIBI, Ph.D. architect, educator, and senior advisor at the Architecture & Design Commission Ministry of Culture. Fahad studied at King Saud University (BSc Architecture and Building Science) and the University of Sheffield (MArch Architectural Studies). He has a PhD in Environmental Design/ Architecture from University of Calgary- Canada. He has been a reviewer and juror for many organizations: Reviewer of King Salman urban charter [2021] (Ministry of Culture- Saudi Arabia), 1st design competition for Saudi architects, jury member [2020] (Ministry of Housing), Abdullatif Al Fowzan Award for Mosque Architecture, technical reviewer [2019]. Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, expert peer reviewer [2018]. Official nominator Aga Khan Award for Architecture [2024]. Fahad’s research and teaching focus on the social and cultural processes that shape the forms and meanings of built environments, particularly in Gulf region.
